Message Hi Mark,

Thank you very much for your input; it worked. Changing the Edge service login to a domain user who is an Admin on both the Edge box and the target backup share helped. I also used mklink. I'm not sure what all was necessary because I forgot the most important rule of Windows trouble-shooting--restarting the box. I was just about to reply and say it didn't work when I bounced the box, and it worked.
